About the West Virginia School Health Technical Assistance Center
The West Virginia School Health Technical Assistance Center (WVSHTAC) based at the Department of Family and Community Health, Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, Marshall University has provided technical assistance to and evaluation for school-based health centers since 1994. We celebrate the tremendous growth for the number of centers and services offered since that time.
Technical assistance includes:
- Program evaluation and reporting
- Technical support and facilitation of community-school planning
- Training for community health providers and schools
- Promotion of quality improvement and use of evidence – based programs and practices
- Data management systems
The Center is funded by:
- The West Virginia Bureau for Behavioral Health and Health Facilities
- The Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation
- The Appalachian Regional Commission
